Breaking the Media’s Hypnotic Spell
Politics
Watching director and producer Robby Starbuck speak at CPAC 2021 last Friday, I had a major revelation, which had been percolating in my head for a year. The fundamental struggle of our time is not between Right and Left, right and wrong, or even good and evil, but between reality and mass hypnosis. But instead of the old swinging watch, the hypnotic subject stares at an electronic screen, where the mesmerists of the three media — news, entertainment, social — show him only what they want him to see and accept. They spread the lies that a man can mutilate himself and become a woman or that an unborn baby with a beating heart is merely a clump of cells. And if you question such things, you will be silenced. How else could the most successful president since Ronald Reagan be deemed by so many a stupid, racist, Russian apparatchik despite ample evidence to the contrary? While a deluded, doddering, decomposing ghoul gets accepted as a modern-day FDR, only with incoherent Fireside Chats?
