CRON Forecast

BearishBullish

80% Confidence

Bullish Case: CRON is flat near $2.8, and options show heavier call activity with backwardation (inferred vol-cooling). The CRON return-surface’s highest-likelihood bands cluster around small-to-moderate gains (~0–15% over 0–2y), with thinner positive tails beyond. Previously my mid-June +5–12% rerate idea didn’t play out, so this bullish case depends on new catalysts. Uncertain timing/impact. Falsifier: CRON repeatedly closes <2.60 with rising downside IV.

Bearish Case: SPY implied-volatility surface shows persistently warmer downside vol at lower strikes across the next several hundred days (inferred macro drawdown risk). CRON options price very expensive deep OTM puts while near-ATM IV is only ~50–60, consistent with crash insurance demand. The CRON return-surface also has frequent negative bands (~-10–-25%). My downside trigger hasn’t fired yet (CRON hasn’t broken <2.45). Bear risk rises if earnings/guidance miss or dilution/regulatory headlines appear; falsifier: CRON holds >2.95 while put IV cools.

Potential Outcomes:
  1. 50% Status quo (-5% to +8%, ~$2.6–$3.0) ahead of next earnings; oracle: if CRON stays in range and IV skew doesn’t widen.
  2. 32% Mild rerate (+5% to +15%, ~$3.0–$3.35); oracle: if 2-week closes >2.95 with margin-stabilization evidence.
  3. 15% Bear drift (-10% to -20%, ~$2.1–$2.45); oracle: if SPY sells off and CRON closes <2.45 with put IV warm.
  4. 3% Tail crash (-35% to -50%); oracle: if dilution/regulatory shock filing and deep-put IV repricing.
